Why you should start a blog

Reasons why you should start a blog right away :

Hello everyone !
Sorry I was a bit busy the last few days, hence no posts since my last post about 10 days ago. I hope you've already created a blog and maybe published a few posts too. If you did, send me the links of your blog, I'd very much like to read and check your blogs. Anyway, a few days ago, a friend of mine asked me something that made me think, like think deeply. His questions was, "I want to have a blog, I've always wanted to have a blog where I would write about stuff. But I feel like it's too late for me
to be a blogger now. I mean, it's 2018. So, do you think 2018 is too late to start a blog?" Then I was thinking the whole night about his questions and I had to publish a post regarding that question of his, because there may be thousands of people like him who reads blogs and also have a hidden desire to start a blog, but they're worried that "2018 is too late to start a blog". This post is dedicated to people like him, yes you, I'm talking about you.

Why I started a blog/blogs?

As I have already said in the first post, I started a blog because I kept hearing people talk about blogs and blogging and those words were new to me. Being curious and inquisitive in nature, I had to look up what they mean and that was the start of it. I kept that tiny wish hidden carefully inside of my heart, the wish to have a blog of my own and keep writing about things and anything I wanted to write. A few years later, when everything seemed to be favorable, I created my first blog in Blogger
(Blogspot), it was a simple blog of a frustrated adolescent, where I used to vent out my frustrations and I simply don't know why I used to get visitors. Maybe there were (and still are) people out there who found my frustrating posts relatable and they just liked reading my posts, or maybe something else, I don't know. But I knew that I would always be blogging about anything throughout my life, until I can see the computer keyboards clearly. So, that's my reason for blogging.

Should you even start a blog in 2018?

The answer to this question is yes, a big fat YES ! If the question appeared in your subconscious mind, then you do want to publish posts and you want to interact with people and that is one big reason for you to have a blog. Honestly for me, that was the only reason I ever needed. But there are some people who always overthink before doing something they deeply desire, for them I would just write some of the reasons why I think you should blog.

So, it's 2018 and you know there is some kinda dominance of "video content" in websites like YouTube, musical.ly, Vine, Periscope, and what not. Even social networking sites are also contributing to this like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc etc. There is also websites like Twitch where gamers stream their gaming (or whatever you call it). Then comes Vlogging or Video-blogging where people posts videos (either live or recorded) on websites like YouTube and people watch and comment and interact. So, it is natural for people to think that the normal blogging, where people would write posts and readers would read them, is kinda outdated. But a research conducted by Express Writers tell a totally different story though. You can read the article here, and it points out that there has been no southward slope in content creating in the last few years and they even estimated that "by 2019 it would be a 300billion $ business". So, you haven't definitely missed the "blog-train".

Reasons why you must act now :

There is no single answer to this question, and not every person who can speak a language should have a blog. But there are some quality reasons to have a blog. Please note that these are my personal views so be gentle on the bashing/trolling.

1) People are still reading blogs:

I mean blogging is definitely not a thing of the past. I read a lot of blogs on a myriad shades on topics from sports to politics. from stupid funny stories to extraordinary achievements, even on giveaways and paranormal encounters, and I can safely bet that I am not alone. There are some mediocre bloggers who get around 5k unique visitors a day, and some bloggers who get more than 10k visitors a day, and I am not even talking about the famous ones. So, you know, there are readers who are gonna read.

2) There are different kind of consumers for different media:

It's like an extension of the first point, yes people still read. With the advance of all kind of digital media, the "so-called pundits" very quickly declared that there will be a massive downfall in the number of newspaper/magazines readers. But reality speaks something else, as they are still being printed and still being sold and read by millions of people all around the globe. The same story can also be said from the perspective of novels and story books, they were expected to be extinct by now, but we have seen how crazy people get when a hard-copy of their favorite novel is released, like 50 Shades Freed, or any J.K. Rowling release.
The most important governing factor is that there are different set of consumers for different media. There are people who prefer videos as a source of learning something than reading about it and vice versa. Similarly there are people who still prefer holding actual newspapers and magazines and novels in their hands while having breakfast to holding a Kindle or an iPad.Ask yourself what you want and what works best for you. After that self evaluation you will get the necessary motivation inside of you to start a blog.

3) The internet is here to stay:

The internet is such an integral part of our lives that we use it almost all the time. While reaching out to our family and friends, we use it. Similarly internet helps us when we plan for a movie with friends or eating out with family. I mean we even buy groceries and apparels using the internet. We use maps to find places and I know very well what you did on Tinder 😜. With the internet comes the search SEO or Search Engine Optimization works like charm, and so does spreading your blog in social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. The questions isn't if blogging is still relevant in 2018, but if you are willing to put in the effort for being a blogger, because people are still using the phrase "just Google it.."
engines. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, BING, DuckDuckGo, get more hits in an hour than you can even count manually in a month. So, your audience is going to find your blog using those search engines and end up reading your posts.

4) Being heard by more people than you ever imagined:

If you have a voice and you have something to say, there's no denying that you deserve or expect to have an audience who love hearing to whatever you say. Blogging can be one such way where you can have the desired audience, and , if you trust me, you'll have to believe that it feels good when you see people are interacting with you and each other and it brings immense pleasure to you since you are the main reason why that social interaction takes place.
Having loyal audience pays off in more ways than just mental satisfaction too. You get half of your work done because of them sharing or talking about their friends or colleagues and they do the same and so on, I mean people talk about things they like and if you manage to make them like your blog, then you'll profit from that.

5) Your blog will bring in money:

Yes! You can earn money from your blog, but that doesn't mean that making money should be the primary reason behind your endeavor. A blog is not a "be rich quick" lottery ticket that you can just open a blog one fine Saturday and the you bring home your brand new supercar on Monday. I have already talked about how making money should not be your primary objective behind being a blogger. Be patient, be creative and more importantly be dedicated because your main concern should be the blog and not the money, because if you are doing it only for the money, then there is a big chance that you'll be getting very very less money than you expected and eventually give up being a blogger.

That's all I can think of now. If you really want to be a blogger, you don't need a reason for that. Talk to me and tell me what's stopping you from starting a blog? Maybe I can help. Don't hesitate, feel free to talk to me.

Oh yes, please subscribe with your email and keep following this blog of mine.
Be creative and be happy..

Until next time..
